MacBook booked in at Bluewater on Sunday... again. Hopefully they can get it repaired before Christmas, but it's not likely.
MacBook Pro's screen keeps dying. It just goes blank. A little knock to the hinge usually brings it back, but it can't be a good sign. It means I need to live without it for another 2 weeks, or however long it takes them to repair it. Not very convenient but it has AppleCare so it won't cost anything.
My MacBook Pro is back from being repaired. Apparently they've replaced the logic board. Going to pick it up from the Apple store in Bluewater tomorrow. Might get some Christmas shopping done at the same time seeing as I'm going all that way!
First MOT for the SLK this morning. No problems at all which ain't bad for 78k miles!!
Grr, flippin' iPhone won't start. Apparently this is the "infamous Apple logo freeze". Restoring now, but without a backup because that's on the laptop that's current with Apple being repaired.
I think Apple might be hating me at the moment!

Tweetmeme won Mashup of the Day!
Went over to the Apple store in Bluewater to get my MBP looked at. The guy behind the "genius bar" did everything I'd already done and he also couldn't work out what's wrong.
Since it's only 10 days outside its warranty he said they only charge a one-off fee for labour and another for parts. Oh, and data transfer will cost extra. Unfortunately I did a fair amount of work on Saturday that didn't make it onto my backup drive at work so I needed to protect the data. All in it was gonna cost ~160 quid so I bought the AppleCare extended warranty instead. At 280 quid it was the best option since it's now covered for another 2 years.
They've now got it for 1-2 weeks which is a major pain but at least I know it *will* be fixed. Work in the meantime will be difficult - I'm back on my very old Mac Mini and performance is not its strong point. Grrr.

Macbook Pro won't boot!! Light comes on but no startup sound. Tried resetting the SMC, PRAM and moving the RAM around but nothing worked. Gonna have tomorrow off to take it to an Apple store.
Paul (Senitor) replied asking for my surname. Quick reply, polite and hopefully effective.
Replied to a recruitment email from Paul Brogan of Senitor...
